Malco and I love the beach. We wanted to create an intimate atmosphere where our closest family and friends could dance the night away without thinking of driving back home. We’re both very chill individuals so we wanted the vibe to be very relaxed and warm. We hired percussionists during cocktails, a singer and kahon player for the reception, and a dj for the after party to give different ambiances throughout the night. We also wanted to make the décor as simple and as organic as possible so we used lots of green, white, and neutral tones combined with local accents like sinamay and rattan. We wanted the place to speak for\ itself instead of being overpowered by the decor. Because what more can you ask for if you have the beach as your backdrop?

Boracay is very special to us since we met on the island in 2010 during our batch Boracay trip after university. Boracay also has the best suppliers for a destination wedding as well as lots of options for food, accommodations, and transportation for our guests.

We organized a Despedida De Soltera/Welcome dinner at Dos Mestizos which served the most amazing tapas and sangria complete with live music and a Spanish guitar. During the wedding at Crimson, we had our favorite chori burger stand paired with beer and wine during the sunset cocktails by the beach. Everyone loved it! Even though it drizzled, our biggest surprise was to find a full rainbow as the sun set.

We were very happy with how our wedding turned out. Each detail put in place was to create an unforgettable experience for our guests. We wanted them to enjoy the island the way we would. It all felt authentic and heartfelt with mixed emotions throughout the night. Based on their comments after the wedding, they really had a wonderful time and even wanted to extend the party past 2am! The service of Crimson exceeded everyone’s expectations. Despite the challenges from Boracay’s closure, every visit we had at Crimson made us feel welcomed and this was one of the reasons why we decided to push through.

Doing a destination wedding is really the dream. Having a beach wedding at one of the best islands in the world is something you and your guests will never forget. It is worth every cent as soon as you see your guests having the time of their lives. Our advice is to find pegs you really like and let the suppliers know what your idea of a dream wedding is so they can create a package perfect for you. But you also have to make sure your budget is laid out so you don’t overspend. Prepare to adjust as you see fit and have your non-negotiables in place and the rest will follow. What’s also great about having a destination wedding is you’ll only have your closest friends and family there. It might be more difficult planning a destination wedding because of logistics but it’s really worth it!

We chose Crimson because it was new and people didn’t know about it yet. A lot of our friends and family go to Boracay regularly so we wanted to surprise them with a place they haven’t been to. It is a wonderfully designed space that although stands out, it also blends perfectly with Boracay’s stunning views. Crimson has a beach and a ballroom so we had a really good back-up venue when it rained. We also really liked that Crimson only does one major event at a time unlike some resorts who would book back-to-back events or weddings. Lastly, Crimson’s service really sealed the deal for us. They made our special day truly memorable.
